Mini Pendant Lights as Optional Lighting Your Home

Mini pendant lights fixtures are often considered an optional lighting solution and not an important part of many lighting designs. Now it is true that you are not going to solely use mini pendant lighting, however mini pendants can often revamp a dull design and provide many options that you might not have considered. These light fixtures can really give a space an entirely new look, more so than any other lighting option out there.

What Are Mini Pendant Lights?

A mini-pendant light is simply a smaller version of your standard pendant light fixture. We use pendant lighting typically to light up a workspace like your desk or an island in your kitchen, or a reading area, and even as lighting for pool tables and in game rooms. The beauty of these lights is that there are so many styles and designs that they can really have more impact that practically any other lighting solution.

Pendant lighting is further broken down into two types. Inverted and downlight pendant lighting. An inverted pendant is such that the bulb faces towards the ceiling. This illuminates an entire space with indirect lighting. Often you will find these in use as ceiling fixtures, and often for general purpose use. Now downlight pendants are used directly over the work space or area that needs direct illumination. Mini pendant lights are downlight pendants and you will use them to light up a single spot, usually in a larger room or workspace.

These fixtures often produce very stylish, and often elegant, designs. They really can take over as the focal point of any space you use them in. They are great for creating a finishing touch on an otherwise decorated space and you will be surprised at just how much attention mini pendant lights fixtures are able to capture.

As far as space and installation concerns, the fixtures are usually five to seven inches in diameter. To make them featured, you will mount them so that they are about two feet above the space they are intended to illuminate. This will create an atmosphere where they will always be in view and will capture the attention of all that view them much faster than any old dull ceiling light.

Many people choose to incorporate multiple mini pendant lights into a single design. You will find that this does create quite an effect. It is best to stick with a symmetrical design with the mounting points roughly a foot to a foot and a half apart. If done correctly, you will find that the lighting draws the visitor in and creates a warm, comforting environment to read, work, or relax in.

You will not be disappointed with mini pendant lights fixtures and their ability to completely affect the area you install them. You can choose to create a correlating fixture design, or even find fixtures that create some contrast with your current lighting. This will create an effect that surely makes your mini pendant lights the focal point of any design.
